Inkanyezi Knowledge Sharing Portal

 Inkanyezi Knowledge Sharing Portal

Your one stop shop for idea generation, paperless meetings, knowledge sharing  and  collaborations

This portal is a result of a Knowledge audit that was done at CPUT Libraries as an assignment for a Masters Studies program.  The audit was done to identify knowledge that exist in the library and knowledge gaps that need  to be filled, to assess how knowledge is being used and how those methods can be improved.  It is known in knowledge management  that "people" are the organizations greatest assets.  The knowledge that resides in  peoples minds (tacit knowledge) cant be measured until it has been captured and recorded (explicit knowledge).  It is therefore critical for organizations to find and build mechanism/systems to get people to share, capture tacit knowledge of it people for the benefit of business improvements and sustainable futures of its people and the organization.  Aliba (2008:3) asserts that “If an organization has not deliberately invested in mechanisms to 'tap' into the tacit knowledge of its people, and developed systematic systems to manage its explicit knowledge (information) that organization will lose out in the new knowledge-intensive world”. In this blog I will be put forward my version of a knowledge repository that can meet and serve the knowledge needs of CPUT libraries staff.

For any knowledge to exists, it needs to be created and it often start with an idea, a need to make things better.  This portal will take you through the different stages of knowledge management i.e. knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, managing and using knowledge.  These processes will be built into the following headings i.e.  Idea generation, paperless meetings, knowledge sharing and collaborations will be the main themes for this blog. In the next chapter I expand on this heading in the form of working examples. I will also talk about recommendations that came from the audit and build a repository that will cater to them.

Idea Generation- Knowledge Creation

No idea is ever to big or too small, with the right people to nurture and brainstorm your idea you might be one step away to knowledge creation.

Paperless Meetings- Knowledge sharing

The library strives in eco friendly environments. Help us achieve  vision 2020 targets and save printing budget through paperless meetings  and access to the right documents, policies and forms.  Share documents easily with your staff connection and solicit comments from your coworkers.

Knowledge Sharing

Inkanyezi portal gives you a voice to share your knowledge and skills with others so you can make the most out of what you know. It starts with your Inkanyezi profile. Complete your profile so coworkers can discover who you are, what you’re working on and how you can work together.

Collaborations- Knowledge sharing
